(Almost) Daily How-To #16
Listening: Sitting at Lazy Daze Coffeehouse, “The Funeral” by Band of Horses is playing… have never heard it before… and now “Dress Up In You” by Belle And Sebastian just started playing. I love this iPhone app that tells me the name and artist of the songs!
Thinking: I’m thinking several things (especially since it’s been a few days since my last post):
- I love my friends, they are becoming like a second family and I am very thankful for that.
- I wish my professor would go paperless so I would have an excuse to get rid of my printer and not have to pay for overpriced ink and kill trees with the paper.
- I’m ready to put up my Christmas tree… before Thanksgiving. Oh well, I can wait another week, still need to buy lights.
- I love random acts of kindness. This guy got up from enjoying his coffee to help one of the “bread ladies” bring in food for the day.
- I’m SO glad I got one of my papers done… it relieves some of the stress.
- I love this coffeeshop!

How to Annoy Me: This morning’s commute was the ultimate annoyance. When I’m traveling on the highway at over 60 mph, it’d be nice if people used their turn signals. It’s also common knowledge that the far-left lane is used for passing, if you’re not passing someone, get out of the lane. Seriously! How many times to I have to signal for you to move over. Ha ha!
How to Make Me Laugh: Do impersonations of the kids you teach everyday… it makes my day because it’s hilarious!
Funny Little Quirk About Me: When I’m stressed and putting off something, I will clean. It’s true, I cleaned my kitchen last night when I should’ve been writing my paper. Ha ha! Note to my future wife, if you come home to a clean house, it’s probably because I had a stressful day.
Quote of the Day: “Deep within us – no matter who we are — there lives a feeling of wanting to be lovable, of wanting to be the kind of person that others like to be with. And the greatest thing we can do is to let people know that they are loved and capable of loving.”
- Fred Rogers, a.k.a “Mister Rogers”
