How to Make a Strawberry Surf Rider Smoothie
Summertime is glorious and perhaps one of the things I look forward to most are smoothies. Sadly, it’s hard to find a good smoothie place around Indianapolis since Whole Foods bought out Wild Oats (and the Java & Juice bar disappeared), the Smoothie King near my house closed, and the nearest Jamba Juice is up in the Merrillville Mall of all places. I have found a place called Squeeze in Fishers, but the verdict is still out on that one.
So I decided to look up how to make a Strawberry Surf Rider smoothie from Jamba Juice. It’s been a month or more since I’ve had one, so I can’t quite be sure if it tastes exactly like the Jamba Juice version, but it was still pretty good! Here’s what I did:
Ingredients
- 12 oz of lemonade
- 2 scoops of strawberries
- 1 scoop of peaches
- 2 scoops of lime sherbet
- 1 scoop of crushed ice
Directions
- Pour lemonade into blender
- Add strawberries to blender. The recipe calls for two scoops (ice cream scoop size) and I used about ten strawberries.
- Add peaches. You’ll want to remove the peel by blanching it (video) and de-pit the peach, add to blender.
- Add lime sherbet.
- Add ice.
- Blend!
Notes: I’m still working on getting the consistency of the smoothie right. If it seems a little too runny, try adding more lime sherbet.
