Lifehouse – Everything

I had heard this song before, but then Chris used it in worship one week… he mixed it in with another song. I never thought of the profound message behind the song and how powerful it was. Typically in my blog I like to post music videos and lyrics of songs that I really like or that are with me at the moment. When looking for a music video for this on YouTube, I found that a video called “Lifehouse’s Everything Skit” was the most viewed video, so I checked it out.

At first I thought it was going to be interpretive dance, but it actually turned into a very meaningful video for me that illustrates how we often get separated (in some ways) from God through our own selfish actions and the actions of others. For me, I could see both sides of the coin. It was incredible how much she tried to be free from the things that was keeping her weighted down. I also realized as I watched it that perhaps we can sometimes get in the way of people connecting with Jesus.

It’s a powerful song and a powerful video. I hope you enjoy it.

Birds Take Over Grace CC… And Other Random Pictures

I’ve been accumulating photos on my phone of pictures I keep meaning to post. My co-worker Serena says I’m obsessed with taking pictures of animals… and maybe I am. But it’s only because I’m fascinated by animals and think they’re cool. SO, here are some photos for ya.

I ran into this goose while I was trying to leave work on Thursday. If you didn’t know, we had a goose hatch some eggs here at Grace (see that post here). Well, apparently Papa Goose here didn’t appreciate me getting too close to the little ones, so he blocked my way out of church. I eventually got past him without any damage, although he did try and peck at my car.

Sometimes I feel like I’m being watched when I walk into work… like this goose up on top of the church building keeping an eye on the parking lot.

In Teri’s office, we have this wonderful view of the nest. I guess Teri’s window is more hospitable to birds, since it’s kind of out of the elements.

This little guy fell from his nest up in the rafters, we scooped him up with some resumes and placed him in the grass where his mother quickly found him. I think he’s okay, haven’t seen him in a week or so.

I have found these pictures of Jesus taped to a few trees around the park. I think they were placed there by some of the Mormon missionaries around here since the back of the picture is an “ad” for the LDS Bible. I really wish they would’ve wrote something thought-provoking, since I took time to cut down the picture of Jesus. Sheesh!

“MADE IN CHINA.” An American flag made in China… must we outsource everything? Can’t we do something for ourselves?!

My adorable niece after the 4th of July parade. I tried to teach her how to throw a frisbee, unfortunately she just made me chase after her around a big tree while she held the frisbee.
